Exclamation DRIVER NEEDED: VIA Technologies Sound MAX (Windows 7) [IDE]

I am a computer engineer, I have just upgraded my client's machine to Windows 7 (I did the Upgrade Advisor before and W7 would install correctly and all the hardware would be fine).
Until... I installed W7, everything else works fine, except the Audio driver! I have tried everything, XP compatibility mode.

I know the drivers according to the page for the motherboard aren't for windows 7, but surely there must be some way of doing it:

It's a K8V-MX Asustek motherboard with VIA chipset.

Support Information:
Device Type: Graphics / Video Adapter
Manufacturer: Asustek
Model: Sound MAX
Interface: IDE
Operating System: Windows 7
Age of Device: Not specified

Without knowing which ADI SoundMAX sound chip it contains, all I can suggest is to open Device Manager, find and right click the sound device (it may be listed under Unknown or Other Devices if no driver has been installed), left click Properties, click the Details tab and note the hardware id string listed. Repost with that info and I'll try to help.

It looks like Asus only supports it up thru Windows XP:
