The T/L adapter is in perfectly working condition. I have tested it with other devices, as well as other keyboards. If you would have paid any attention in the aforementioned original post, I stated that my keyboard's P/N is 5187-1767 and the Model # is 5183. So, to answer your question, it is an HP Keyboard, Model # 5183, P/N: 5187-1767, issue: I need the drivers, I do use a Tripp-Lite adapter.
As for the windows 98, yes. I do believe W98 was the device's OS that the keyboard was delivered with, however, that is beside the point. My laptop is a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2k2.
