If your device is less than 2 years old then it doesn't require drivers. If it does actually require a driver (and is older than 2 yrs old) then the only way you will get it to work in Windows 7 is to purchase a newer USB enclosure and mount your drive in the new enclosure. It will then become 100% plug and play. No driver required.
