You cannot have an internal drive with a parallel port. Only EXTERNAL drives can have parallel ports. And optical drives never require a driver when used in Windows operating systems. When the interface device has it's driver loaded, an optical drive becomes 100% plug and play.
I'm not familar with any Acer drive bearing "acem5811f" model number. Where did you get this model number? eg: "acem5811r"? Do you mean Acer Aspire M5811R instead? If yes, that's not an optical drive but a computer model number.
