DRIVER NEEDED: Hewlett Packard (HP) HP scanjet 5400c (Windows 7 x64) [USB]

I just purchase a new computer with the Win 7 (64) OS. Now I need a driver (or drivers) to use with my HP Scanjet 5400c scanner so it will work. I have searched the internet for a compatable driver(s) but cannot locate anything. All I keep running into is that HP does not support Win 7.

Can somebody help? I don't have the money to purchase a new scanner.

So what part of that do you not understand? HP only supports this device in Windows up to Windows XP 32-bit. No Windows 7 and no 64-bit support.

Scanners are not one of the devices high on a companies priority list... I suspect that scanners will eventually be phased out of production within a few years.... most already have been phased out. Writing new drivers for older scanners just isn't happening by most scanner manufacturers. They are much too busy writing Win 7 and Vista and 64-bit drivers for new devices.

I hope I don't come across to you as rude as you did in your response to me. I know that HP doesn't endlessly support/build drivers for their scanners. If you reread my original post you can see that I was asking if anyone knows if there is a compatible driver that I can use for my 5400c scanjet.

So I'll leave this thread open so you can maybe get the answer you want to hear (instead of real facts). Who is gonna support HP products besides HP? No one!
