You should have clarified what a "Averatec AVHS-103" is. eg: is it a webcam or a notebook model?
I suspect the latter.....

Yes, I had already figured that fact out.... I could not find any driver for this cam other that the Windowss XP driver.

With the webcam plugged into a working usb port and powered on, open Device Manager, find and double-click the webcam, (it may be listed under "Unknown Devices") click the Details tab, select "hardware id" and give me the hardware id string that begins with "PCI\VEN". (1st./top line of text only).

i don't have any USB port external webcam now.the only webcam i have is the built-in webcam in my netbook...i already downloaded your driver being uploaded yesterday but then i failed to install it because it needs a product key..

Then why did you select USB in the interface field above? I still need the hardware id string as the driver I posted a link to was for Windows XP.
