Canon never wrote any Windows XP drivers for this product since Windows XP did not exist when this printer was made. Your only chance at getting it to work in Windows XP is to try/test some of the Canon drivers that are included with the Windows XP OS. You have to click on Start, Printers & Faxes, Add New Printer, the following the on-screen prompts. The LBP 800 is not listed in the list, but you might find one that gives the desired basic printing results. Also try the HP Laserjet II/III and IBM Graphics and Epson FX/LQ drivers. You may have to test several to find one that works.
