Need driver(s) for Targus Wireless Optical Mouse, USB, model PAWM002 item AMW03. I've no idea how old it is, but I can't find a driver for it anywhere on the internet.

That may be an indication that it could be an OEM product and not retail in which case you'd need to visit the website of the company who packaged it with a pc system. Or tell us what computer brand and model it came packaged with.

With the device connected, open Device Manager, double-click the mouse, click the Details tab, and give me the hardware ID string.... it should start with USB\VID.......

Are you certain it requires a driver? Have you checked the USB ports in Device Manager to insure they are working? What happens on-screen when the mouse is plugged into a usb port? any messages or notifications?
