DRIVER NEEDED: Atheros Communications AR9285 (Windows 7 x64) [PCI / ISA]

I am finding so many different drivers for this wifi, I do not know which is the most recent.
Currently have 9.0.0.173 but am having issues connecting to wireless networks involving long connection times, outages, and system lag when attempting to view network status/properties/etc.

Atheros does not make network cards, they make network chips and sell them to motherboard and network device makers. Please provide some info about the device and computer system.

Did it come pre-installed in your computer at the time of purchase or did you purchase it later, then add it to the pc?

Is it a pci card (as stated) or could it be a laptop mini-card or possibly integrated on the motherboard or even an external USB device?

Used in a laptop or desktop computer?

Computer/Motherboard brand and model?

Did it come from the factory with Windows 7 x64 installed?

The "most recent" driver will be the one with the latest date and/or highest version number.

Toshiba C655-5049 laptop.
Board: TOSHIBA Portable PC Base Board Version
Bus Clock: 800 megahertz
BIOS: INSYDE 1.20 04/27/2010
It came pre-installed with the laptop, with 64bit Win 7. Device manager says PCI bus 3.

The driver for it on the Toshiba support site is from '09, and I've found a couple from '10. I keep finding new drivers as I try to fix my connectivity problem, so I figured I should just ask for help and maybe someone could direct me to the absolute latest.

I think you must mean C655-S5049

I didn't find any other choices.
