Compaq never made a network card called 1456VQLIN. That number looks like it belongs to a MODEM (or possibly to the monitor/lcd display). I suspect what you have is a Presario 1220 notebook with an unknown network adapter (at this point in time). You need to examine the labels on the bottom and back side to see what the model number is. Once determined, you only have to type that model # into the box on this page: (but don't type 1456VQLIN because the HP website doesn't know what it is.)

And fyi, Compaq (HP) does not post drivers according to the card model number, they post them according to what computer model they were installed into. Apparently, you have never visited a computer manufacturers website, else you would know this.
Is this device installed in a desktop or notebook computer?
What are you describing, ie: a network adapter, a motherboard, a computer, or something else?
Computer model number?
Did you install this network device or was it installed by Compaq when it was built?
If your computer model is Presario 1220, then it is only supported in Windows 9x and Windows ME. No support in Windows XP.... it's too old.

additionally, HP doesn't list a network adapter for this notebook model (for any OS).
