Re: DRIVER NEEDED: Quanta cresline+ICH8M (Windows XP Professional)
A driver request should be clear and precise. It should contain adequate information that will allow us to help you. You (like 99.9% of other members) failed to utilize the Comment Box we provide specifically for this purpose. You post a motherboard model number in our Sound Card forum, yet you said nothing about the actual device you need a driver for (ie: the SOUND DEVICE). You also didn't bother to tell us if this is a retail or OEM motherboard and if the latter, what the computer brand and model is that it came installed in. It's next to impossible to help this type of request.
Is this device used in a notebook or desktop computer?
Did it come pre-installed in the computer at the time of purchase?
Is it integrated on the motherboard or a PCI add-on card?
Computer brand and model? (perhaps a Dell ???? model)
Sound chipset number and brand? (perhaps a Realtek ALC268)
Did it come from the factory with Windows XP installed?
You might be able to get the sound to work using one of the many drivers posted in the Realtek STICKY posted at the top of this forum (that is, if your sound chip is a Realtek chip).
