DRIVER NEEDED: Conexant Conexant Cx20551 (Windows 7 x64) [PCI / ISA]

Hi! I'll try to explain myself since I don't speak English very well…

So, I’ve a Toshiba Satellite laptop model P105-S6104. I bought it on December 2006, thus it came with Windows XP, but with a little sticker advising that it is Vista capable.
After I verified that my laptop fulfill all the requirements, I installed Windows 7 ultimate x64. I’ve to say that this OS runs very well in my computer, even better that XP.
The problem is simple, the sound doesn’t works! I’ve been trying to fix it downloading uncountable drivers for both windows 7 and windows vista. I executed these drivers by its setup.exe, and were not able to fix the problem.
I visited intel web site, and the automatic system that recognizes all the devices and looks for the updated drivers, doesn’t recognized my sound device.
Then, I visited the manufacturer site (Toshiba), and seem that this model is unsupported by them.

Therefore, if you kindly help with this issue please reply. ´

I am having the same exact issue, with the same computer (Toshiba Satellite P105-S6104), same upgrade (Windows XP to Win7 Ultimate 64bit). I have tried many different drivers and methods, but I'm still not able to resolve this issue. Please help. Let me know if I need to post more specs. Thank you for your time.

Laptops cannot normally use generic drivers, they must use specific drivers from the laptop maker or..... special "hacked for laptops" drivers. These sites might help:

You should all post the hardware id string found by opening Device Manager, double-click the device, click the Details tab, repost with the 1st. line of text. It should start with PCI\VEN..... copy it exactly to notepad and then paste here in this thread.

Under hardware id I have this:

I scrolled through all of the drop down options and found this under parent:

I was unable to find any driver specific to Windows 7 but I read that the Vista driver works well in Windows 7. You can download it here.

However, this may only work in 32-bit Windows 7. I don't know of any other solution for the 64-bit OS.
