HP doesn't offer any Windows 7 drivers for any laserjet *p printer models.

Hi, had the same problem.
Solved it and that bulletproof printer is up and running again in windows 7, how:
Through the device manager, update the driver, pick one from the computer, browse to the HP section and pick hp laserjet 5200 series PCL 5. Works!

Just chiming in to independently verify that using the HP LaserJet 5200 PCL5 driver in Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit works like a charm for my HP LaserJet 6P-- it was especially difficult to set up because I have the printer physically hooked up to a USB port on my router running aftermarket firmware which is listening for print jobs on 192.168.1.1:9100 .

An IEEE 1284 to USB cable with bridge electronics was $8 from Micro Center which allows this printer that just won't die to keep on chugging along.

For what I needed:

The Name didn't matter.

The IP will be just the IP of the device listening.

The port is strangely not asked in a convenient place.

My advice is to set it up as a local printer that your computer won't find. Then go back in and edit the printer settings, specifically the 'port' where you can specify that the actual TCP port the IP Device is listening on.
