When your machine used to run normal speed, it did so without a bios update so how do you figure that a bios update is going to help it now? There is no such thing as a "driver for a Mitac 8050d BIOS". There's drivers for pc's and then there's BIOS updates for pc's, 2 different things. Two most common causes of any pc running slowly is this:
1: You have the hard drive full or almost full of large
files like music
files. The cure is to remove all those large files and clean the hard drive of cache and other temporary files.
2: Some nasty on the pc, ie: malware, adware, trojans, and/or virus or a heap of all.... that has control of your pc.
When all those fancy anti-nastyware programs you currently have installed fail to find those nasties on your pc, then it's time to remove them and install only 2 programs: (you will never need anything better or different.)
1: Bitdefender Total Security 2009
2: Malwarebytes AntiMalware v1.39
The 2nd. program alone will usually find and rid your system of more than most any other combination of Anti-virus and Adware/Spyware programs total. The 2 I listed above will make a true believer out of you.
Laptops cannot use generic drivers like desktops can. You must use a specific driver for this laptop from the laptop maker. Any other driver will fail install. Or you must use "hacked for laptops" drivers.
Please contact your laptop maker for drivers and bios updates. If they don't have them, then I see no help for you except for these few links:
