DRIVER NEEDED: Lexmark 2050 Color Jetprinter (Windows XP Home) [Parallel Port]

I have a Parallel to USB converter cable - this works fine with an old HP parallel-only printer.

But the Lexmark 2050 isn't recognised as Plug and Play.

The supplied Windows 95 drivers won't install on my PC - there's a missing file.

Your device driver guide only comes up with two drivers - both "medium safety" and with low success rates. The drivers are lxinst32.exe (user rating 28%) and CJ2050.WRI (user rating 15%)

Is there any better way of using this printer - e.g. is there a Generic Lexmark Jetprinter XP driver that will work with the 2050? Or, would a 2030 driver work?

The only way to know would be to test it. Lexmark only supports this model in Windows OS's up thru Windows ME.
