Default USB Ports

When Igo and plug any device's into the usb ports, XP crashes. I have tried most things, has any one got any suggestions.

Make sure the USB port is enabled and working properly. Device Manager will tell you it's status if you take a few minutes to examine it. Check that first...

Then make sure the usb device your plugging into the port is compatible with the port... USB 2.0 ports are compatible with USB 1.1 devices but not the other way around. eg: usb 2.0 devices won't work with a usb 1.1 port.

Make sure you have the latest service pack for XP installed.
