I recently created a dual boot Vista 64/XP and now XP seems to be missing a driver for the ethernet controller. Please advise. Thanks.

Sorry, I'm new at this...I have a desktop Gateway DX4710-UB301A. I've looked at a few other posts so you may need some info I got from using Everest:
Motherboard ID: 05/16/08 Bearlake-6A790FKOC-00
It's name is Foxconn G33 Series

It was installed on the PC when I bought it and I checked Gateways site as well so am I just out of luck? Or is the ethernet controller just not compatible with XP?

82801 is a broad term used by many members asking for drivers for Audio, Video, etc. using the same chipset number. I think 82801 is just one of the main chipsets on a motherboard that's really not specific to any one device.

I'm assuming it's an integrated device and not pci or isa inteface?

I'm probably downgrading the same system next week. Were there any issues when installing Win XP, aside from networking?

I think Intel uses a common driver install for most desktop NICs. So head over to support.intel.com and choose a typical NIC - if it's not here.
