DRIVER NEEDED: Hitachi HTS542516K9SA (Windows XP Professional) [SCSI]

Hello!

For 5 weeks ago i bought a new laptop named "Acer Travelmate 5530" and i have windows vista on it. What i want to do is to install windows xp on it but when the installation loaded all the files i get bluescreen and it says that it cant find my harddrive. My mate says that i need SATA drivers but i tryd to search on google drivergudie and acer so what can i do? Because i need Windows Xp until monday.

Acer has no SATA driver posted for this machine: ie: ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...e_5530/driver/

Nor is the SATA driver even mentioned in their European website: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers...k/tm_5530.html

So your task is to figure out what SATA controller is in your machine.

If you still have Vista installed, enter Device Manager and look to see what name Vista has given to the SATA controller. If you don't have Vista installed you may have to re-install it in order to identify the SATA controller.

On the bios you can set IDE compatible VS SATA controler
