Compal Notebook - ACY23-14 Boot Screen Blank

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a 'Lock' of some sort on a Compal ACY23-14.
Everything seemed fine yesterday - then my son went on the laptop! (Big mistake!)
I turned it on this morning & it won't boot - but power is still going through & cd's are still able to play (music)

There is a little rectangular icon (with a triangle at the top) showing on the LCD (I haven't noticed this before)

Any idea's?????

Did you ever found a solution, I have the same situation over here.
Is there maybe a manual online?
