DRIVER NEEDED: Acer aspire 5100 (Windows XP Professional)

NEED HELP!!!!

I've been trying to downgrade my acer laptop from vista to xp, and i just cant seem to find the right driver to get my hard drive recognized during the xp installation by trying to load 3rd party drivers using the f6 command.According to the driver it says it's a microsoft standard dual channel pci ide driver. I've tried drivers from microsoft, ati, and amd which are the same animal any, but have had no success. PLEASE HELP

You don't use a ide driver for a SATA controller.... you must have a SATA driver. Your first task at hand is to identify the SATA controller. I seriously doubt you will find sata drivers from microsoft, ati, or amd. perhaps Intel or Promise or any other company that produces sata controllers and sata chipsets.
