Artec USB Scanner (Ultima 2000) not operating.

Just trying this USB scanner (Artec Ultima 2000) to see if it works. It does light the green LED on top. I have it connected to a Mac Mini, running OS-X version 10.4.11. As I am given the option for Mac. in some previous question block, I am (maybe naively) expecting it to run anyway. I will try to ferret out any resident driver that will do the job as the Mac.OS does include many such drivers as a matter of course, for all sorts of devices.

When I connected, it just sat there with the LED on, no noises, or even activity on the display or any acknowlegment at all. As there are no start buttons, I figure it is activated by the software, but I have no indication. Maybe I have to find some manual or instructions and download them too.

Ultima/Artec has never supported their scanners in Mac os. (only Windows)

Thanks Jerry K. I suspected as much, though I was hoping anyway. At least I can give it to my Granddaughter to use with her new laptop, well at least try it. We'll see what Toshiba has for us.
