I am looking for a driver to let me run my new CD/DVD player. I had the same problem with my orginal CD/W after loading IPOD and Kodak software on my PC. I removed both of these and cleaned the registry. In the Device Manager it's telling me that either the driver is not there or is corrupt. But it lists 4 drivers in the driver details section: cdrom.sys, imapi.sys, redbook.sys, and storprop.dll. I have PC at work with XP professional so I copied the listed drivers from that PC and put them on mine but no change. Using the Update Driver in XP it can't find a "better match". I tried pointing the search to the internet as well as my C: drive.
I thought at first my original CD/W was broke so I bought the TSST CDDVDW SH-S202N and I get the same error.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? I can't even re-load XP because its on a CD!
Any help is appreciated.
