If your laptop contains a SATA hard drive, you will need the SATA controller driver. It doesn't matter what hard drive you have as the SATA controller driver is what your needing. ID the SATA controller and we'll see if we can find the matching driver.

Hi!
I had the same problem. I solved it with no-using complicated softwares, only i red a lot of tutorials about re-editing a XP CD-ROM. I put inside the drivers that i found in acer.com website, then i modified a lot of lines-codes in some .ini files into I386 folder.
Now i have the WIN XP PROFESSIONAL (SP2) CDROM, on my own. right for Acer Extensa 5220.
If you want, i can do it for you, and send it by my SERVER, from where you will be able to download the CD (in ISO format) and burn it into only 1 CD ROM. it's bootable.
