The sound device is built into the motherboard and its described as being a Realtek ALC882 8-channel High-Definition audio CODEC... and I updated its drivers, in vain. I still don't get any sound as the "sound device is not detected". No sound card is present in the device manager tool and yet, sound support is enabled in the MOBO's bios. I thus need help finding drivers for this intel device~

i need this one to, but i need him for my acer travelmate 5310. the sound card is: intel 82801 GBM ICH7.

i have searched the whole internet but i see that allmost everyone is looking for this drivers.

i hope some of you guys have some information or mayby a link to the drivers.

Is this a retail motherboard or OEM? If OEM, please provide the pc system info, ie: pc brand and model number.

enabling the device is bios setup does not automatically make the device work. You still must install the sound driver in order for it to work and produce sound.

Please visit the pc makers website. If sound drivers are available, you can probably find them there first. But you need to concentrate on what the actual sound chipset is because 82801 is not a sound chipset. Sound chipsets bears brand names like Realtek, Cmedia, ADI SoundMax, and Sigmatel.

BTW, It's a "REALTEK" chipset...
