ALL LCD monitors built in the last 2-3 years are plug and play in Windows XP. This monitor is no exception.

If you are having a problem, it probably your Video & Graphics adapter rather than the monitor.

Check in Device Manager, under Monitors... does it say "Play and Play"? If so then that is correct.
