Optical drives never require a driver when used in and Windows OS beginning with Windows 95. Vista provides native support that allows this drive to read a data or music disk and to burn a cd-r disk. Please state what the problem is and include some details. The most simple information everyone leaves out of a request is the most important in rendering aid....."is the drive listed in My Computer and Device Manager"?

I too require a driver or something as I have the same dvd rw drive but it only appears as a cd-rom. It does still play dvds but when I try to burn my own dvds through DVDSanta it says there are no dvd drives available.

Any help would be great:

Windows Vista 32bit home basic is being used
kn9 sli motherboard with 3gb ram
256mb graphics via Geforce 7600
power dvd deluxe is installed and all codecs have been applied.

Please help!!!

Get decent burning software and you won't have that problem. ie: Nero or Roxio
