DRIVER NEEDED: Microsoft HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N (Windows XP Home)

I am getting a code 39 when I look at my device driver for my DVD-RW. It also does not show up on my computer and does not work when I put in a CD or DVD. I have followed suggestions from microsoft.com about the filters but to no avail!! Could someone help me PLEASE!!!!

The filter fix is the only fix available. to my knowledge, there is no other fix. Please perform the "delete upper and lower filters fix" as outlined in my previous threads;

It contains instructions on the delete the upper and lower filters fix

Also, there is a STICKY posted in this forum that contains a file from Microsoft and instructions that will do this registry edit automatically instead of having to do it manually.

And here's another method that will do this automatically for you if you're afraid to edit the registry manually.
