DRIVER NEEDED: Toshiba Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K16A (Windows XP Home)

Hi I'm having trouble writing DVD's on my toshiba laptop, the Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K16A is the name of my disc drive. Any suggestions or help?

Do you mean you cannot write dvd disks? What exactly is the problem. If you have Nero (any late version) it should work great to burn dvd's. It might be helpful to include some details.

and btw, optical drives don't require any drivers. All support is provided native by the OS and by burning software.

I can not Burn DVD's. I have the newest nero burning program that can burn DVD's. I can't even make a Data DVD. The drive has the capability to burn DVD's but it isn't working

what do you mean by "not working"? We need some details before we can offer much in the way of help.

Has the drive ever worked? New drive, used drive, new installation?

Is the drive listed in My Computer and Device Manager?

Some details from Device Manager in DVD/CD Drives and IDE Controllers would be helpful.

Will it read a data or music disk? Will it play a dvd disk?

Please give us some details of the burning problem and if you get errors. What are you trying to burn, ie: avi, mpeg, disk to disk, hard drive to disk. Man give us something to work with here.

If I told you my car didn't work, would you know how to tell me to fix it with the vague details I provided. We can't see over your shoulder to see what's wrong or what your doing so you gotta help us before we can help you.

So unless you provide some details, this entire post is a waste of time. But that's ok, keep your secret fix to yourself and everyone else having the same problem will have to figure it out for themselves as you did.

Hi,
Can you please let me know where I could get the driver for a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K16A - toshiba laptop. My DVD drive can read cds but cannot read dvds. The drive continues to make strange noises when a dvd is inserted into it.
