I know this error has been discussed before, but I am new to it. Is there a definitive fix? I did uninstall Roxio.

Cdr4_xp is not a file name.... Cdr4_xp.sys is. http://members.driverguide.com/drive...driverid=85867

Cdr4_xp.sys is a part of DirectCD software. Cdr4_xp.sys is the CDR4 CD and DVD Burning Helper Driver.

This is a Roxio file and can be downloaded from this web page" http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/mserr/cdr4_7.html

Just download the exe file, run it and reboot. Your problem should now be fixed.

I executed the downloaded file and I get: Your current version of cdr4 drivers are up to date. No installation took place. Again, I no longer have EZ CD installed.

ok.... please clarify what your problem is.

1: My drive is not listed in My Computer or Device Manager?

2: My drive will not read any kind of disk?

3: My drive will not burn disks?
