HI I just downgraded my gateway laptop ml6720 from vista To windows xp and i can not get to make the internal sound driver work on my drive it is basically built on intel 965gm chipset

Sigmatel doesn't offer support to end users. They leave that up to the system builder who incorporated their chipset into they're motherboard. In you case, Gateway. Since Gateway did not ship this system with Windows XP installed, they also offer no support for it directly. You're best bet is to find similar models using a Sigmatel chipset and try the drivers posted for it.

Laptops, unlike Desktops, cannot user generic drivers. They will fail installation.

mmm...also...i finded that drivers for Dell notebooks, why Gateway does not support his users!!!
