DRIVER NEEDED: Pioneer USA dvr-k12d (Windows XP Professional) [IDE]

I have a Vaio pcg-k25f with a pioneer dvd burner (dvr-k12d)I can't see it in my pc. In the device manager it has an exclamation mark and it says : that the registry is incomplete or damaged. I tried unistalling an installing but it doesnt work. the weird thing is that if insert a start up cd, the computer starts using the cd. that means that it is working. i dont know what to do.

This is a much discussed subject in this forum. There's multiple threads with the solution posted. It's called "delete the upper and lower filters fix".
