Exclamation DRIVER NEEDED: Sony Electronics TRV110E (Windows XP Professional) [Firewire / 1394]

Hello All,

My computer doesn't recognize My Sony trv110e camera.
I learned from other answer that the problem derives from the service pack 2, so I changed it back to SP1.
I added today a Western Digital 320 HD and whenever I try to launch the camera, the new HD won't come up.

I couldn't find any driver for this camera. Does anyone have a solution?

Many thanks in advance,
Ari2

Default Re: DRIVER NEEDED: Sony Electronics TRV110E (Windows XP Professional) [Firewire / 1394]

I successfully connected my Sony DCR-TRV110E PAL DV Camera to my PC running O/S Win XP SP3. I used the Belkin 3 port Firewire PCI card which says it supports Sony's i.Link protocol used for this DV Camera. The Camera was auto-discovered, no drivers were needed, and the camera installs under Imaging Devices in the Device Manager listing.

Make sure you turn off the pc and camera when connecting the two together as I've seen a warning from Sony that you cam damage your camera connecting the two with power turned on.

I used Win Movie Maker to capture and edit the video and it worked fine. I did have some problem getting the correct Firewire card and found one generic brand card did not work. The card installed ok but when the camera was turned on it was not recognised by Win XP. So get the right PCI card to save yourself a lot of time. I paid $59 for the 3 port Firewire card this included the 6 pin to 4 pin cable and free ULead editing software.
