DRIVER NEEDED: Gateway Gateway Mt3104b SigmaTel STAC9200 (Windows XP Professional) [PCI / ISA]

Hi, I purchased a Gateway Laptop which came with Vista basic pre installed. I've just re-installed XP Pro as some of the software I use for work is not supported by vista. All works fine except I can not get the audio to work. Installed Everest to find what device is used in the notebook. It say its a SigmaTel STAC9200 @ ATI SB450 - High Definition Audio Controller, I've tried all the drivers from Gateway, ATI, Intel, Realtek but nothing seems to work. Hope some one can help I've been at this for days now.

Gateway doesn't have a Windows XP driver for this machine and generic drivers (ie: drivers from some other laptop maker or chipset maker) will not work on a laptop. The only way you will be able to make it work is by the use of a hacked driver. I don't know of any for this model. You can see all 148 Sigmatel drivers posted on driverguide.com by clicking the link below, but I think it's probably a waste of time. Good luck and let us know if you find one that works.

I am gaving the same problems I am reinstalling my gateway and need the drivers could you help and let me know the location of the drivers please.
