Hi to all.
Please I need a BIG help..I'm going crazy..
Two days ago I had to fromat my laptop for a virus and now I'm looking for the driver audio but it's dirving me crazy.
The suond card that I have is the "Analog Devices AD1981B(L) @ Intel 82801DBM ICH4-M - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-1] PCI" and the manifacturer of my laptop is Benq with Windows XP professional.
Please I can't hear my music and for me is a nightmare..

Laptops require specific drivers from the laptop maker. Generic drivers will not work on a laptop...all laptops are made this way by the manufacturer. They build them with special coding that causes generic drivers to fail during install.

Please state which Benq laptop model you have. Or just visit the Benq website to see if drivers are available for your model.

And btw, Analog Devices AD1981B(L) is not the same thing as Intel 82801DBM. You will not find drivers using Intel 82801DBM as the chipset number. It must be a AD1981B driver from Benq.

Hi, sorry but the last time I forgot to write the model of my laptop.
It's the Benq joybook 5100U.
I tried to look for the sound driver in the Benq web site, but, as you can understand, It was a failure.
I found there all the others drivers but not this one.

that's strange that they would have everything posted except audio drivers. I suggest you contact BenQ support. Here's a email link, you can ask the nice lady for help. Be sure to include the laptop model in your email to her.
