NEC VersaPro VA80H is a Japanese market notebook. I doubt you will find any support on English speaking NEC support sites.

So is there any other way to know the soundcard my notebook is using. I've already dowloaded Everest and it only says that I have an Intel ac97 audio controller. I need to know the exact sound card my notebook is using so I can download and install the necessary sound driver. Can you help me? Please? Thank You.

Could anyone show me where to download ADI 1886a and ADI 1981a sound driver? Thank You.

Notebooks cannot use generic drivers. They will fail during install. You must use a driver designed by NEC or hacked notebook drivers. The only thing I can suggest is to thoroughly read and study the NEC website drivers for models that are similar to the VA80H and try matching drivers for the hardware. Even that method doesn't work 100% of the time.

If it truely does have a ADI sound chipset, then try this driver and let me know if it works:

It didn't work. It said "driver not found. reboot your system and run this setup again." Thank you for your help. I'm going to look for the sound driver myself. And if I find one that will match my notebook I'm going to upload it here so that others won't go through the hell I went through... I truly hate NEC.

By the way if theres anyone out there who knows where I could download ADI 1886a and ADI 1981a. Could you please show it to me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i already have the adi ad 1886a sound driver.. i was just wondering if i can upload it here, so that other users who needs it wont have a hard time finding it. thanks...

btw NEC VersaPro VA80H NX Series uses an ATI Mobility Radeon Video Card and an ADI ad 1886a sound card.

i had a hard time fixing this effing notebook i hope i that info helped out.
