You'll need to give us something to work with here. AC97 is a term adopted by Microsoft in 1997 that deals with literally hundreds of sound devices. Try providing the brand and model of the pc it came pre-installed or integrated in.
At very least a basic description like is it add-on sound or did it come integrated in a pc system motherboard.
