I suspect that you are encountering the same problem that I have encountered.
On newer Windows O.S.s' , you use a driver file called rt73.sys while if you try to run the same adapter on a win98 machine (or older) , you would need to place that file with a file called rt73u98.sys in the drivers folder you install from or at-least direct the installer to the folder containing this file.
But where do you get this file?
It is no-longer easily found on the web.(by itself that-is)
You will likely need to download an entire installer that has this specific file as one of it's installation components. I.E. - install something you may not have in order to get the file.
