Diver for Intel 536EP modem under MANDRAKE 10 Official Powerpack

Need a driver for Intel 536EP V.92 hard modem under Mandrake 10 official powerpack.
I tried with drivers that version 9.2 supports, but no results.

Did you resolve this? I'm still using 9.2 - in fact I'm dual booting 9.2 / 10.0 because I can't get the driver to work under 10.o.

Step one:

Firstly make sure that you have the "Linux Kernel source code" installed, if you did FULL install it will probably be there already.

Step two:

Download the following file and save it to your home directory:

ftp://aiedownload.intel.com/df-suppo...-2.37.50.1.tgz

Step three:

Unpack the archive from the command line:

tar -zxvf intel-537ep_secure-2.37.50.1.tgz

Step four:

cd intel-537EP_secure-2.37.50.0/

Step five:
enter these commands

make clean
make 537_26
su
- You will be prompted for the root password
make install

Assuming that everything suceeded, your modem should now be working for Mandrake 10.

The requested drivers were for the Intel 536EP PCI modem on Mandrake10. The previous posting by Alistair gives instructions for the 537EP driver. Has he had success using the 537 driver on the 536 modem on Mandrake10.
