Question thinkpaf 760el problems

Hello,

I picked up this 760el fairly cheap, and when it boots up, it either gives me a 301/305 error (improperly connected HD) which is connected right, and when it doesnt, it almost boots up Windows, then just shuts into suspend mode and i cant get it out of it.

Help please!

defective/failing HD or bad Drive bracket holding HD
assuming that you do indeed have it connected corectly.
