Exclamation DRIVER NEEDED: FASTFAME 8IFE (Windows XP Professional)

I have a problem. My computer was with windows 98 and worked fine. I installed XP yesterday and strangely enough the pc is jamming and switching off the monitor just after 2 minutes appx of activity after booting.

I have bios version 1.10

I found on driverguide ( since fastfame website is no longer available ) a file 8ife.120 which should be bios 1.40. It is 256K but the extension is not .bin but .120. I extracted it with winrar and came a bin file of appx 128Kb. Though when I try with uniflash or awdflash in dos it is telling me that is an appropriate file size and when I did a backup of my bios it came to a size of 256K. Can someone please help me out on what to do ? I tried already for 2 days trying to sort out this problem but to no avail and dont want to ruin my mainboard.

Thanks

idea Re: DRIVER NEEDED: FASTFAME 8IFE (Windows XP Professional)

Please explain the method of extracting a NON-RAR file with WinRAR. I don't see how it's possible. It looks as tho all fastframe updates bios files are in that same format. Perhaps someone who has experience in using it will respond and expose the correct method of using these non-standard (ie: not in bin format and certainly not in RAR format) files.

Thumbs up Re: DRIVER NEEDED: FASTFAME 8IFE (Windows XP Professional)

In this case of BIOS FASTFAME, the archives download with name 8IFE.100, 8IFE.110, 8IFE.120. When you download ends, rename the bios file for 8IFE.100.RAR, 8IFE.110.RAR or 8IFE.120.RAR (add the .RAR extension for te file).
Sorry for my english, it is becouse i'm brasilian boy and not speak english.
