I have a IBM Netvista PC with an built-in sound card that I am trying to find sound drivers for. XP PRO sees the card as a: "Intel 82801 BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller". NOTE: The card works properly in XP.
In 98, the Everest software sees the sound card as s: "Intel 82801BA ICH2X AC'97 Audio Controller [C-0]".
Here is what I have tried so far:
Most of the AC'97 drivers that I can find on DriverGuide. The best I could do is making everything sound like Alvin and the Chipmonks with the worst requiring a OS reload. NOTE: I have not downloaded ALL of them, but since most seem to have the same file, etc. it seems to be a very moot point.
I have been to IBM and while their site and tried all their sound drivers without any luck. Even tried some that weren't for the 6792 PC and used their auto-detection software. BUT, nothing worked.
I have been to Intel looking for anything since it might be some weird hybrid based on/off the 845 Chipset that might be of use and didn't find anything.
I looked around for the Avance Logic and RealTek drivers and had the same luck as Driverguide.
So, I am running out of options. Anyone have any ideas and going to another OS isn't an option.
