DRIVER NEEDED: Acer 6698-03A (Windows 2000 Workstation) [USB]

I downloaded the recommended "Mira404u.zip" and unzipped it but the driver will not load into windows control panel/driver. I have the SP4 upgrade for windows. Do I need to do something else? Thanks Eric

Try using the correct driver and you might have better luck.

Thanks for the effort Jerry but that driver didn't load into windows either. Any other suggestions?

that's the only Windows 2000 current driver that exists. You must make it work.

Delete all scanner software first, then clean out all TWAIN drivers in the Windows\Twain or Twain32 folder. Check the INF\Other folder to insure there's no files there that refer to the Acer scanner, then reinstall the driver.

You do have a working usb port right?

I have four working USB ports (two USB1 and two USB2 ports). I have two memory sticks pluged into one of the old USB ports and one of the new. I used the windows add/remove programs tool to remove all the AcerScan software.

Then I did a search throughout my c:\ drive for any software with Acer or Twain in it. I checked each file to make sure they were linked to AcerScan either by the date I downloaded the software or by the AcerScan name and removed them.

One file was locked out by windows because of a sharing violation? I went into safe-mode and multiple messages appeared. These messages said there were multiple dup files in "documents and settings\winnt\drivers" that were partitioned for one. But the file names came off the screen to fast for me to write them down.

So, I am searching my windows messages files for the names of these files to make sure they are removed. I also remember seeing all the files listed on this site associated with the driver downloads. I am looking for those to make sure all files are removed.

I don't understand the term "that were partitioned for one." Can you clarify? It sounds like Windows 2000 has made backups of some files like Windows XP restore does. Or you have multiple partitions on your hard drive.

Same story. I removed all acer files and reloaded. It looks like the drive loads right. When you click on the start up application. It lists the USB port but if I go into control panel and click on scanners and cameras. I select add. Then next button is pressed. Then EPPSCANNER is listed and selected. ColorFlatbedScanner comes up for model. I get two options. Next = LPT1 printer port available and nothing else. Or have disk and it look for an *.inf file isn't found on my system???????????????

Jerry are there any pathes for this scanner?
