98 to xp-installation problem

i bought new msi m/board, 40gb wsd h/disk (already installed xp). I tought it was worth but not. i installed the hardware then i start the computer. What i found is, it cannot access the OS. So, i start to reinstall the XP. When the blue screen appeares (and do some updating blalaa....thing until 'starting windows') the message error appeared. "File\i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. the error is 7"..i tried so many time and the same error appear.. wat should i do?
