Hi,

I have reinstalled Windows XP in my PC. After that audio is not coming. The following is my PC's details. Kindly help me.

A start would be to identify who made your motherboard, brand and model, and bios id string.



Better yet the hardware onboard. To find make and model of pc hardware, EVEREST Home Edition is a free system diagnostics, system information program that will id most hardware onboard a mb.

Run the program and then:

Click on Computer
Click on Summary
Right hand window (hardware) if the text is blue this is a link to the web site for that particular hardware.

An alternative program is Belarc Advisor from www.belarc.com (a little more simple to use than Everest but not as good about identifying a place to find the driver).

I've just installed the INTEL inf file Intel 82801DB DBM-DA AC97 driver - Intel Sound Card Drivers - 82801DB_DBM_DA_AC97.zip (~124kb) from

and it worked like a charm on my GigaByte - WinXP Pro SP2!

Though.. I had to have the WinXP SP2 CD Disk as this driver is rather old and unsigned, but never the less it actually works much cleaner than the huge Realtek's AC'97 bloated downloads!
