HELP NEEDED: Giga-Byte Technology 81PE1000 1.x (Windows XP Home)

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping for a bit of help. I recently reformatted my computer, but found out I didn't have the drivers for my motherboard. I have a Giga-Byte 81PE1000 1.x, and cannot get broadband. A network connection symbol does not even pop up. I figured that this problem was due to my on board ethernet, but could not find the driver for either. I did find the chipset for my motherboard and installed it, but any help you could give me regarding my ethernet adapter would be very much appreciated.

To find make and model of pc hardware, EVEREST Home Edition is a free system diagnostics, system information program that will id most hardware onboard a mb.

Run the program and then:

Click on Computer
Click on Summary
Right hand window (hardware) if the text is blue this is a link to the web site for that particular hardware.

An alternative program is Belarc Advisor from www.belarc.com (a little more simple to use than Everest but not as good about identifying a place to find the driver).
