: : : I am using the Adaptec USBXchange cable that converts a SCSI device to USB. For this scanner Fujitsu does not have an appropriate driver to allow the scanner to work. They stated that the built in Microsoft Driver may work but they don't support it. I need this driver or any driver that has an .inf that will allow USB communication for this SCSI scanner. I know the driver exists because at one time the scanner worked with the USBXchange cable in place.

: : If it worked previously, then why don't you use the same driver as you was using when it worked?
: I did not originally install the scanner, I would gladly use the same driver but I can't find any such driver on the system... That was the fist thing I checked for.
: : I suspect your driver will have to come from the company who made the cable.
: On the adaptec site they state the if this problem occurs to contact the manufacturer of the scanner to get an updated driver.
: As you said... "Fujitsu does not have an appropriate driver to allow the scanner to work". Why would they since they didn't build it. Check with the vendor or the cable (or the manufacturera) to see they have the driver.
Unless you've formatted the drive, the drivers for the device are still on the system hd. Use Device Manager, right click, then left click properties (of the device) and then click the drivers tab. It will tell you what/where the drivers are located on the hd. Copy them to some kind of media and use them on the newer system.
