DRIVER NEEDED: Intel intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller (Windows XP Professional)

we both have the same problem, i think ive already got the driver for my built in graphics controller, but i still have to find the driver for my audio, hayss....
we both have the same chipset mine is also 82801eb ich5

U both have Realtek audio... just different Realtek chipsets. The 8086 in the hardware id string identifies it as Realtek.

There is no such sound chip as Intel 82801... there's been a ton of discussion about this chipset..... even a STICKY or 2.

Sound chips are made by companies like Realtek, Cmedia, ADI SoundMAX, VIA and IDT (formerly Sigmatel).

thanks jerry ill try to install it, BTW i type the id string of my audio in google PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_24D5&SUBSYS_E8008086&REV_02

I try to install different driver for AC`97 realtek but every time my pc reboot in midle of th einstalation

HP never sold or shipped this Desktop Server with Windows XP on it... hence there is no driver for that OS. You will have to use the Windows 2000 driver posted on the manufacturers website:
