HelperFuture (in post #6) doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. If you folks needing audio drivers want help, you MUST identify your pc brand and model and/or your motherboard brand and model (if it's a retail motherboard).

And fyi, there is no such audio chip as Intel 82801EB. Sound chips bear names like Realtek, Cmedia, ADI SoundMax, VIA, and IDT/Sigmatel.

Folks, you will never find a driver for an Intel 82801 as there is no such sound chip. I don't care what Adida 32 or Everest tells you, it is wrong.

Sound chips bear names like Realtek, Cmedia, ADI SoundMAX, VIA, and IDT/Sigmatel.

For all you hundreds of people asking for this non-existant Intel 82801 sound chip driver, please provide your pc and/or motherboard brand and model, then someone can help you.

I installed WDM_A383.exe and it gets so far and reboots the machine.

Is it a retail motherboard or OEM? If the latter, what is the brand and model of your computer? I keep telling you people that we cannot help until you provide info about your pc and motherboard. We cannot read minds nor see over the internet to see what hardware you have.

Is it used in a laptop or desktop pc? Did it (ie: this unknown mb.) come installed in your pc at the time of purchase?

What is the bios id string that appears in the lower left-hand corner of your monitor screen during the first few seconds of bootup? You have to press the Pause key when it appears so you can write it down or type it into notepad then copy and paste it to a post.

Finding a driver for your sound chip is simple once you get the hang of what is required for us to find it. The only clue you gave is "Springdale-G i865G". What you don't understand is lots of motherboard makers used this chipset in making their mb's.
