Default Loading 98 onto ibm 380ED

I just bought an IBM 380ED laptop in an auction and the company that sold it wiped it clean (of course). when I boot it up it comes up with the F Key screen and an arrow pointing to the F1 key. When I push the F1 key it comes back with the I9990305 error - No Operating System Installed. I tried to put in a 98 boot floppy and 98 CD but it wont let me do anything . . . can anyone please tell me how to put Win98 on my kids laptop? ~ Jim

go to http://www.ibm.com they have configuration utilities for your laptop that should be helpful . if you are going to install 98se make sure to check out the info on power management issues and the files to install

hope this helps,
terry
