: We moved and my cd with drivers was stolen, computer was broken so had to buy new one. used old drive as 2nd drive in new computer and won't run scanner. hp no longer supports this scanner. scanner works to copy but you get a stair step picture. i love this scanner and do not want to buy a new one just to get one to work. normal use is for scanning photos.

To my knowledge, HP never wrote any XP drivers for this discontinued model scanner. They dropped all support even before Windows XP was introduced. Even back when they had drivers posted, XP support was not in the support list.
